Our Story
StartupHomeCare was founded by a husband and wife team (Mark & Kristy Dunning) with background's in sales, marketing, operations, and IT with Fortune 1000 healthcare and finance corporations such as Pfizer and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Kristy is a certified Medical Assistant (MA) and has a Bachelors of Science Degree from Brigham Young University in Public Health. Kristy worked her way through university as a Medical Assistant in an orthopedics office. Mark has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Public Health and a Masters Degree of Public Administration from Brigham Young University. In addition, both Mark and Kristy are Certified Senior Care Managers and are members of the American Geriatrics Society and the Gerontological Society of America. After working in the corporate world as a healthcare sales executive for a number of years, Kristy decided she would like to own her own business. Kristy began putting the building blocks together to start her own non medical home care agency. With much effort and 1.5 yrs of time invested, Kristy and Mark built and launched their own home care agency in the highly competitive healthcare market of Orange County, Southern California.
Two weeks after launching their new home care business, Mark & Kristy contracted with their first client to provide non-medical in home care services. With much hard work Mark & Kristy were able to grow their business to gross over $1 million in annual revenue by their second year.
Getting Into Homecare
The founders have often been approached by individuals who want to know their secrets to success in the competitive Southern California homecare industry. The founders decided to create a company that specializes in giving people the knowledge, tools, materials, and skill set needed to start and sucessfully operate and grow their own quality homecare agency - instead of purchasing a franchise.

Success In Home Care
The founders made many wise decisions during their first two years of business – but due to their inexperience in actually owning a home care agency they also made some poor decisions that amounted to thousands of dollars in lost revenue and wasted operational/marketing efforts.
